It’s an event for the whole family all the usual Halloween festivities plus for the first time a small group of artists and crafts people such as myself will be showing and selling our wares….such as my latest piece below for the young and young at heart.
To all that came to Dangerous Lullabies opening night last week, it was great seeing you. For all that missed it, it’s not too late the show will remain up till the end of the month.
Well it’s almost October and you know what that means? The days of crunching leaves under our feet are not far away. It’s not a secret that autumn is my favorite time of year. To start it off this Friday night come and join me for the opening night of the Dangerous Lullabies- Group Show at the Historic Dole Mansion in Crystal Lake. (click on picture for more info)
Here’s a picture of the venue I took when I dropped off my Artwork for the show. I haven’t seen inside as yet and I can’t wait.
Available for the first time prints of my ” Sad Creepy Monkey” below. You’ll only be able to buy prints at this venue opening night so you’ll want to come early.
To all that came to Gallery in the Garden and Art & Soul. It was lovely seeing you all, old and new friends alike. You are what make the whole circus worth it. Both to my surprise and delight I am happy to announce, I was awarded 3rd place at Art & Soul.
So what’s next?
My next confirmed showing isn’t till October:
An exhibit at the Historic Dole Mansion in Crystal Lake, Il.
A bit of a departure for me..showing my dark side. The show will feature, “Beauty found in the ashes of terror or the magnetic pull of work that is disturbing, on-edge or dark.”
Those are only the things I can confirm at the moment.
In the meantime it’s back to the drawing board for a while. (Not that I’m ever far from it.) As always I’ve got stuff stewing in the old brain pan. Keep checking this page to see what I’m cooking up next.
I can finally announce ( now that is official ) this summer I will be participating in 2 art fairs in Illinois. One is in a garden and the other by a river. So come and see me and we can enjoy the great outdoors and the lovely summer weather together.
In preparation I will be making offerings to the weather gods, in hope that they will bless the following events with good weather:)
Just a quick up-date. It’s been a while since my last post. It is that time of year and I’ve been prepping for two events that take place the same weekend! Spectrum Fantastic Art Live! 4 (booth#220) in addition you’ll also find some of my work in the ConQuest Art Show.

I can hardly believe it’s been a year since I started this new website. Lots to look forward to in the new year. Will post again soon with all the news and previews of things to come. In the meantime I like to wish you all Happy Holidays.
Below is what happens when you leave your toys alone with the spiked egg-nog and pixie dust on Christmas Eve. Beware! what happens at the Xmas party doesn’t always stay there.
Top with 1 cup or more of chopped walnuts or pecans.
Bake at 350* for 11/4 hours. Check in one hour.
Serve with Cool Whip- whipped cream on top.
This recipe my mother discovered through my elementary school’s PTA. Who the Zimmerman’s are or were I don’t know, but my family and friends have been enjoying this recipe every Thanksgiving since I was a kid. I do not consider myself a cook, I rarely bake. I can boil and heat things in the microwave. That being said..this is one of the few things I bake.
The recipe is really basic, if you can follow instructions you can bake this.
I will give you a few tips:
Raw pecans are best…since they are raw they don’t burn as easily.
The recipe says check after 1 hr., in reality check after 45min.
A cube of butter is a stick.
The modern Dunkin-Hines classic yellow cake mix is what I use. It’s not as dry or crumbly as the older version. You’ll need to rub it between your fingers to get it to the right texture. Also I recommend tossing a few chunks into the pumpkin layer it’s a bit like buried treasure.
I hope you enjoy this rare recipe and have lovely holiday.
